Breaking: APC Female Presidential Hopeful Uju Ohanenye Bows for Tinubu
Uju Ohanenye, the All Progressives Congress' first female presidential candidate, has stood down in favor of APC National Leader Bola Tinubu.
She made the announcement at the party's convention on Tuesday.
"Nigeria needs a leader, and I choose to be the mother of the country," she stated. Women's expertise is lacking in Nigeria.
"I appreciate that very much, but I've discovered that we need more time for that to happen." I'm begging with delegates to understand how important their votes are. Before you vote, consider your children and mothers.
"Vote for someone who will give our children a better future." I believe I should make way for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the best candidate and a life saver. I beg my supporters to vote for Tinubu.”
Selected APC members gathered on Tuesday to vote in important primaries to select a candidate for next year's election to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).
Over 2,300 APC delegates will choose a candidate to fight 75-year-old Atiku Abubakar of the opposition People's Democratic Party, among others, in the presidential election on February 25.
