Breaking: Tinubu wins APC Presidential Ticket, Defeats Osinbajo with 996 Votes
Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former Lagos state governor and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been named the ruling party's presidential candidate.
Tinubu won the ticket at the recently ended APC convention in Abuja, polling the most votes (1271), defeating two major opponents, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi.
Rotimi Amaechi received 316 votes, while Osinbajo received 235.
Ahmed Lawal received 152 votes, Yahaya Bello received 47 votes, David Umahi received 38 votes, Ben Ayade received 37 votes, and Ogbonnaya Onu received one vote.

Around 2,322 delegates from throughout the country descended on Eagles Square to determine the party's flag bearer ahead of the 2023 general elections.
A total of 23 hopefuls bought and filed the N100,000,000 nomination and expression of interest forms to run for the ruling party's presidential ticket.
As previously reported by News Centric, several of the hopefuls stood down in favor of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the ultimate winner of the election.
Senator Godswill Akpabio, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, Hon. Dimeji Bankole, Governor Badaru of Jigawa State, Ajayi Boroffice, and the lone woman contestant, Barr. Uju Ken Ohanenye, are among those who have stepped down for Asiwaju Tinubu.
