Everton fans could be treated to more brilliant performances from Nigeria international Alex Iwobi when the new season begins, after the forward thrilled fans with an impressive outing during training in the United States, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Iwobi is currently with the Toffees in the US, where they are having their pre-season and the Nigerian’s training sessions has drawn a lot of praises from those in attendance.
The 26-year-old struggled for form early last season and most times was criticised by fans for his poor performance.
However, towards the end of the season, the Super Eagles star put up a good show and was one of the reasons Frank Lampard’s side were able to survive relegation.
Everton, who are gearing up for the new season in the US, allowed fans to watch some sessions of the training, with Iwobi among players who left the fans impressed.
“Calvert-Lewin, Alex Iwobi and Yerry Mina were among those who most impressed those in attendance. The exercises have focused on improving the physical part”, published the Liverpool Echo.
Everton suffered a 2-0 defeat in the hands of English Premier League rivals Arsenal at M&T Bank Stadium, Baltimore on Sunday morning, but will hope to improve on their second pre-season game when they play Minnesota on Thursday.
Lampard’s side will begin their 2022/23 season against Chelsea on August 6 at Goodison Park.
