Croatia ended their World Cup campaign with a deserved bronze medal victory as they beat Morocco on Saturday evening.

Goals from Josko Gvardiol and Miroslav Orsic helped secure the win over the history-making Moroccans, who were impressive and resolute all tournament.
Croatia have been in six World Cups as an independent nation and, remarkably, they’ve they’ve finished in the top three in half of those – 1998: Third place, 2018: Runners-up, 2022: Third place.
Their performance as a whole was positive, but it was the scenes after the game that warmed the hearts of many watching fans as the players celebrated the win with their families.
As the Croatian players received their bronze medals and went into celebration mode, the players called the coaching staff to join them on the podium to join the party with them.

Croatia 2-1 Morocco LIVE: Modric helps Dalic's men claim third in last World Cup gameWhile many nations don’t particularly enjoy the third-place play-off, it was different for Croatia, who sent out a strong team in the hope of getting another World Cup medal – adding to the second place from the last time around.

“I am very proud with my team and my country,” he added.
“We did a great job tonight and all through the World Cup. For us bronze is a gold medal. We played a tough tournament. Morocco did similar to what we did in Russia.
“I am very proud and happy. Maybe nobody expected us to do this again. We are a small country but we have a big dream.”
